so here are some pics of the roof lining, you can see the 4 side lights from a berlina i mucked around with a wired in.
the glue i used is obviously not sticking, so i guess at some point it will have to all come out again Sad

i also put on my chrome window surrounds today, i think i'm gonna run out of berlina stuff to put on soon from the vs berlina i stripped down...

i've got a couple amps coming down from qld very soon, quite keen to get an install happening finally.

the latest plan i've had now is i think i'm gonna go for a false floor, with ported enclosures, and the subs and ports pointed up the back of the boot, and hopefully the 2 amps flush mounted nicely somewhere.

this way i will be able to put some shields over the subs, and still use my boot space, and keep the full size, but just loose abit of depth, which i should be happy with. also this will mean that the sound isnt blocked by the box getting back through into the cabin, as i've had problems with in the past.

ah i am keen to start this Smile

And the other thing we were thinking about was mini wall with subs out ski-port and ports through parcel shelf at window, with only the amps on display in the boot

so i put a new battery in yesterday, cause even though i am hoping to maybe organise a yellow top, i couldnt stand having to clutch start my car and park on a hill all the time.

it is a 4wd big battery, i had to remove some bits of fuses and stuff so i could fit it in, then put the fuses and that back in, but it fits, very suggly, but yea, a fair bit bigger then a normal commodore battery.
also i found that the main earth from the battery to the body, and a bunch of little earth wires was loose. so i now again have my car revving cleanly to red line no problems, i'm asuming it was the loose earth doing it, but also the battery could have being causing problems.

but yey! it working Smile

next on the agenda is to get the boot install happening, which i just have to pick up the bits from matt so i can get started on the wiring, then grab some mdf and get some design worked out and get building.

the amps are in my room and working, i'm getting sick of looking at them not in my car Sad but it'll be worth the wait.

go car go!!

If you can joz upgrade your earth wires to the same size as your amp cable it really does make a difference.

yea, i had all 4awg earths in my old car, battery to body, battery to motor, and motor to body.

I'm planning to do the same things, but with 0awg this time, as I will be running 0awg to the boot.
I already have a 4awg battery to body, which is fine, as i'm currently only running 8awg to the amp (it was already in the car, so i got lazy)

but yea, there will be some wiring sorting out happening soon, once i get wiring from matt, then the fun will start Smile

did some quick measuring yesterday arvo, and it looks like i can hopefully do what i want.

with a box of 30x35x9 inches (from memory these are the numbers), should give me abit over 4cf or box area, which should be ok for porting.

with this size box, i should be able to build modules so i can pull the whole lot out if i ever want to, as in, if i go to the drags, or drifting or something like that

still alot of planning on the whole design of the false floor, but its definately looking opssible at this stage.

man, that looks nice, though i dont think i quite have 6 amps Smile

i like the foam space invader everywhere, but yea, i guess aslong as it seals Smile

i'm still leaning towards the false floor with sub box under it, but i've gotta do some measuring and trial fitting of the box size and depth, and the amps also, to see how it will all fit in. thanks for the link though, interesting to see.

had a snapped swaybar link pin, put new ones inlast night, heavy duty nolthane ones, they are thicker, and hopefully wont break in a hurry.
repco also lists chrome moly ones, so if these ones break, i'll go for them Smile

also, i now have to wiring and fuses and stuff at home, so its time to start wiring very soon, and designing and building a sub box.
Matt (Max Excertion) was great to deal with, looked after me and just seems to want to help, so thanks to Matt

in other sad news, my car seems to be running on 6 or 7 cylinders half the time, so i need to do a compression test and find out what is happening, i'm running out of things to check / change on this motor, so rebuild may be coming sooner then planned. fun times Smile

well i found my problem, stupidness.

when i changed the leads, i didnt secure them well enough on one side, and one lead decided it was happy to hang out with the extractor, until it melted through the lead and had a direct short, which meant no spark was getting to the end.

so my car is back to all 8 cylinders, yey Smile

also gave it a detail last night, and got one side of the chrome window surrounds polished up, got rid of most of the cloudyness.
