heya,

wondering if anyone has had problems with axel tramp and fixed it before?

i have IRS, and have already replaced the diff bushes with harder plastic bushes. the shocks are ultima's, they feel good, apparently about 6 months old.
springs are HSV touring spring (hsv option)

tyres are pretty stuffed, can they make a difference?
havent done camber kit yet, eg the trailing arm bushes are not new yet.

i still get tramp when i take off, and also on hard changes into 2nd. not as much since i did the diff bushes, but still enough to shake the car up.

any thoughts / ideas?

sounds like shocks, even if they r new could b faulty or not realy ones that should b there
tyres may have a little 2 do with it but i would say alot
i would also b checkin the tailshaft might b bent, worn uni's, mybe gearbox mounts

yea ok, cheers, i'll look into it next time its on the hoist.

though i know the gearbox mount is fine, i keep forgetting to check for play in the uni's when i have it up.

so any particular shocks i should try to fix this problem, dont really wanna go buying all different types of shocks till one works, hmm.

maybe i can just put up with it for awhile. I'm planning to lower the rear more, so i might just get new lowered shocks when i do that.

lol thats normaly the first thing u check is unis lol, well i preffer monroes they r good and handle well, but all the monroes ive ever bought have been sports lowerd shocks so i dont realy know wat the stocks setting is realy like with new shocks, but yea if ur lookin at lowerin the rear id advise get new shocks 2 accommodate 4 the lowerness

i've never bothered in the past, the main reason for lowered shocks is so the sprins dont fall out when you jack the car up, but since i'm the only one jacking the car up, i just make sure the springs sit in fine when i put it back down.

that said, the springs just stayed located in my green vs, so i didnt worry about it.

like i said, i keep meaning to check uni's when im under the car on the hoist, just seem to always forget, make sure i do next time.

we did remember to tighten the loose gearbox bolts last time though, as in, one side of the box was loose, sitting out from the block a few mm, not cool.
