hey, so i'm about to start designing and building a new boot install (vr commodore sedan), which will be housing:
2x 12" cvr kickers
2x f2/500 audiosystem amps
1x coustic 480 (4 channel amp)
1x 0 to 4awg distro / volt meter
1X lots of mdf and dynamatt and carpet

The coustic is not 100% certain, but i wouldnt mind running the rears off it, it will most likely end up hidden, not on display, but i'm not sure yet. (maybe under the passneger seat)
The two ideas me and wagonz have floating around at this stage are.

1. Mini wall, with subs firing into ski port, ports firing up through parcel tray, f2/500 mounted in the back of the wall displayed in the boot

2. False floor, 2 subs and ports firing straight up at the back of the bootlid, amps flush mounted somewhere in the false floor, in front of the subs i would be thinking.

so what im wanting to know, is if anyone has any thoughts or ideas on this, what would work best, remembering that i also like practicality.

the only issue I think you may face is being able to load up the port and subs when on display so they may lose some control and quality with that.

If you load up the port on the side of the car behind the box so it cant be seen it should in theory help keep the subs in better control then you can have either the arm rest open to release more sound or you can put a hole in the parcel shelf to let it through but it will still be getting a good loading on it to help quality.

so a port works best when its loading off something? i dont know how this all works, so it should be pointing at something solid?
i thought it worked just to have the subs and port firing the same way, so are you saying that firing straight up they wont load off the boot lid that well? even if its dyna matted and all?

or are you referring to when the boot is open?

cheers for the help

yeah if the boot is open to "show it off" it will have no loading

but you can have a port on a totally different plane to the sub and it will work fine as long as its the right size you can have bends in it you can even have the port mostly outside of the box and its quite affective as long as the port doesn't just flop around

also it can eliminate "chuffing" having it loaded

hope this all helps.
