again, it may b a wire problem, if u can find out wat pins r wat on the bak of the alternator than just temperately run wires from the alt 2 battery and where ever else there ment 2 go, than c if it charges if it dont charge than, than its an alternator problem, a higher alternator may fix it but id b trying wireing first b4 u go and spend money that might b wasted, we kinda had the same trouble wit wrighty's sprinter and we bodgeed a few wires from the alt 2 the battery and where ever the other go and now it charges just fine than we upgrade the allternator from a 30amp 2 a 70amp and the car goes better now

But if you are looking for a bigger alt try a VT+ commodore alt the are rated at 120 amps, good for a big system.

hey yer, me and dad put the lancer battery in the tx3 and tested everything, running perfect, the battery was stuffed, then i took it for a drive and it stalled and wouldnt start, came back the next day and it started perfect but made a weird noise and a slight smell of burning, started thinking, and checked the belt, it was lose and brittle and flakey, that would explain the noise, the smell and why it works sometimes but not the other, the other possibility is a loose or broken wire thats cutting in and out which would explain why the auto elec didnt find nething wrong, i checked the GL and it has a good belt in it so im gonna swap them over wen i have time. Hopefully this fixes the problem so i can take it for a cruize with u guys XD

just to make sure, you've check your not cooking your battery?

eg is it charging at some crazy voltage, it should be charing at around 14.4 Volts

if you've got a multi meter chuck it on the battery terminals with the car running and give it a check.

i assume this has been checked, but yea, if the battery was stuffed its a possibility.

no worries, just sometimes the little things can get overlooked and it can waste time by assuming they are ok.

so i hope you get it sorted, just dont give up aye.
