Hey all,

Since no brake lights come up with the last cruize I thought it may be a good idea to implement something for safety on cruizes from now on.

So I think a Cruize Safety Check is needed.

This would be a visual check of brake lights and indicators for safety reasons this may extend to more areas in the future if anything else becomes an issue on a cruize.

Vehicles failing this will have to travel at the back of the pack till the issue is fixed.

So what do you all think about this?
Should we implement it?

even if its just a casual check before each cruise, cause it sucks following someone with no brake lights on blinkers or whatever.

everyone who is into cruising should have their car sorted anyways, but it can be overlooked.

The list of things i would suggest people check before (like the day or week before) any cruise is something like this:

check all lights
check tyre pressure
check tyre tread
top up radiator / overflow
check brake fluid level (and clutch if manual)
check engine oil level (and auto oil if auto)
top up windscreen washer bottle

------------
that should cover the basics, and i check those thing before any decent drive already, is basically a service without changing the oil.

also, make sure you have rego, and i would advise everyone have atleast 3rd party property insurance (if you run into me, im not paying for it)

thats just some ideas for people to work off, you can check over your car alot more thougherly if you like, i know i do on a regular basis, as does wagonz, as in bearings, suspensions, driveline etc etc, but the simple list is something everyone can easily check and fix themselves. ask me if you dont know how to do any of it though.

i just thought... we could even set something out like, when we meet up on the morning of the cruise to get everyone lined up and do it before we all leave, it will give us something to do while we are waiting for everyone to show up , and we could even put a bit of a show lol.

Who needs horns? Got my subs firing the other day, if I want people to know I'm around, they know.

I'm in favour of pre-cruise safety checks too. I check fluid levels fairly regularly, and always before I go on a long drive/pre-arranged cruise, but it'd never hurt to get another set of eyes running over things.

well seein as this is wat we do me(stitch) n kyle (wrighty), we can do the safty checks on all cars, as the supra always has tools in it all i need is a box of spare globes and its pretty much set...

if we also want 2 check gearbox and diff oils as well im sure we can bring a jack..

things i think should b checked (sorry 4 repeated things previosly said)
-all lights, blinkers, high & low beam, parkers, brake, reverse, dash warning lights
-wipers / washers
-all fluids, engine, g/box, diff, washers, brakes, clutch (if fitted), radiator
-tyres, pressure and tread, including spare
-should have a spare
-wheels bearings (just a quick shake)
-mirrors
-clean windows
-drive train (tailshaft / CV joints)
-no lose bits on body or engine bay
-belts, tension and condtion
-seat belts

that should just about cover erything
