i would not push that amp lower than 1ohm daily and 1/2 ohm for burps, But then again it also comes down to your box impedence rise aswell, if your box impedence rise is more than 2 x impedence than you will be fine.

yea i think i'll stick to trying to find a 2ohm amp, as that was the original plan anyway.

next on the agenda is to get the front doors some sound deadening and get the kicker splits in and running off the coustic amp. and also sort out amp power wiring.

mechanical wise, found out i have some loose gear box bolts on one side, so they will be getting tigheted hopefully tomorrow night. someone had a vb commodore with front wheels off taking up the bay in the shed tonight...

i put in some clarion 6x9's (thanks wagonz) so i have some sound i can listen to without one of the cheapo 6x9's cutting out all the time due to some loose connection.

so i grabbed some more photos last night.

I've got some air horn to gon on off ebay, they are quite big, as you can see they are about the length of the front engine cover they work quite well to, just gotta get them mounted up under the front bar somewhere.

head unit and 6x9's in, i'm happy with how i got the HU to sit, nice and square this time.

VS berlina roof light (just need to find my lense for it, or if someone has one they wanna sell...
also can see the roof lining out, as its not re glued yet.

glove box carpetted, door trim on all nice and clean, swapped in Vs power mirror switch, you can see it doesnt quite fit right, but it works, so until i find another vr one, it'll do, atleast i have power mirrors working now.

i got rid of the pod filter and put some flex pipe in, got a brand new one from ebay, now it actually uses the CAI

and the blue parkers it came with (i didnt fit these), not sure on these, if i should just pull them cause they are, well, they are blue, thoughts?

fitted in some diff bushes on the hoist the other day. you can see the old black rubber ones that came out. and also the centre mount the just kinda slots in a cradles to bush that is already there. the fuel tank got in the road, but i didnt feel like taking it out, so i hung the diff down a fair way and it just let me get the rear bush mount off

lol Smile

but to prove you wrong, i did check the uni's and they are all fine. i actually thought i had a sloppy center bearing on the tail shaft, it was flopping round abit, got under the car the change it, and apparently one of the bolts holding the center cradle up was lose, so thats fixed now, no floppy tail shaft.

the axel tramp is basically gone now anyways, so its all good. I will have to try a clutch dump from standing to confirm, but its not making the car fall apart from shaking now atleast Smile

well, time to move on. I think i'm gonna have to get the motor out soon and do the oil leaks, and might freshen it up while i'm at it, gotta sort out the crazy lifter / tappet noise anyways.

and stereo, man i need to get a decent stereo in, i'm having with-drawals...

went to wsid last night.

kinda dissapointed, didnt manage to even dip into the 14's

i ran a 15.3.

but then, i had 4 runs, 3 with massive wheel spin, and the other (the fastest) i bogged down.

so i dunno how much more was in it. i will try and find some photos.
mph was 92.
but yea, 19" tyres at 40psi didnt help, and also missing / backfiring above about 4700 wasnt much fun, lost top end speed.

time to get some stuff sorted

yea, i shoulda posted up here that i was heading down, sorry.

only decided to go down like, on tuesday.

it costs $50, which should get you 6 passes, assuming you get there on time, but there was heaps of cars, and we were abit late, so only got 4 passes. all you need is you drivers license (not cams) long sleeve shirt, long pants, closed shoes, and a australia standards approved helemt, we used dirtbike helmets.

you just front up, they do it every wednesday night as far as i know weather permitting. it finished up about 10pm.
they also do burnouts, first 6 cars who want in get in, i think they do that after, not 100% sure though.

I'm gonna hit it up again once i sort out my weird missing issue up high.
they give you printed time sheets and yea, it was pretty good night really, just dumb that its so far away.

OUCH, 15.3 would expect it to be mid 14's,
All i can say practice practice practice.
Dont believe what everyone tells you about there, unless you run slicks or semi slicks you dont need to a burnout and the strip is not as sticky as they say, launch like you would on the street and you will run fine.
Hey i got a 15.6 in my magna, and that was standard.
I will be taking the magna down when i get the suspension sorted, (trying to stop so much sqat in the rear) i'll be chasing a mid 14.

yea, they reckon stock mine should run 14.8, and then into mid 14's with the exhaust and that.

i did have to do a burnout, cause you drive through the water to get to the staging area, i tried to do enough burnout just to dry the tyres, but yea, i know it doesnt make any difference apart from that.

so yea, when i get my top end sorted, i might go for another run.
also might try taking down some 16's or 15's to get more sidewall flex, and lower the pressure abit.

i was thinking it was weird about you not wanting to squat the rear down, but then realised that its fwd, so its a different story Smile
