I'm having troubles with my subs
I have two 12" visionik subs with a 2800 powervox amp
It's all wired up professionally and all but when I turn my stereo up it makes a crackling sound. I'm not sure if it's right or not cause all my mates have some but they all sound so much betta then mine. Wood anyone kno y?

It could b the voice coils/s on their way out.. Evry sub ive fried other then my last one all done that b4 i killed them

stick to known brands
not copys, ebay stuff etc
Can get older alpine stuff etc used for about same price but thousand times better

yeah that'll be max power also known as not real power i guess i started off small too but its better to get a brand that is familar coz they will usually cause you less grief.

also if u buy cheap and nasty u will get cheap and nasty in the audio game so its worth shelling out a few more pennys and getting the better item.

sound like a sub on its death bed,
that amps rating it PMPO, which is Peak Max Power Output.
i would say that in RMS it would be around 60w-70w, but that would be supply the subs with dirty power and signals.
For a good second hand amp with about 500w+ RMS look to pay $150-$200+ dependent on brand and series.

The subs are brand new straight out of the box and so is the amp

The 4x 1000watt amp is $300 odd dollars and yea it's from the shop not off eBay

how was the amp mounted? sometimes if its upside down it cant get rid of its heat and will make crackling noises, and im guessing with a lower quality amp it will be more susceptable, just a thought, hope it all works out for u Smile
