don't be fooled by a H/U specs, it may say 50w x4 but read the side of the box or the manual and you will find it is no more than 18w-22w per channel.

not sure man but i'll definatly try an find out for ya, i just bought some 6" 2way's and put them in my doors (just after my head unit died) then noticed some speaker wire going to the back and all the wiring was there for another set of speakers, so i put my old 6" 2ways in the back and its sooo much better even though im running my ancient pioneer head, so here's my setup now: 2 sets of 6" 2way, 4" 2way, 6x9" 3way with a 2x120watt amp and an ancient headunit all completely pioneer Smile im thinking of ditching the clarion when it gets repaired underwarranty and buying a new pioneer one just so i can run all pioneer gear. So tell my wat u think and wat i can improove on Razz

its the TS-W307D2 and im thinking of running it with a pioneer GM-6400F if i can bridge it, cause it puts out 300x2 to i think a 2ohm load, and the sub is dual 2ohm am i right? so would i be able to connect both channels to the sub giving it 600watts? or will i have to buy a monoblock, its just i can get the amp for around $270 and i want to keep my gear fully pioneer for some stupid reason Razz
also if i put a 4ohm resistor in series with a 4ohm speaker then put them in parrallel with another 4ohm speaker and resistor running from a 300watt amp will i get 300watts to each speaker? i'll draw a pic, because the resistance rule for parrallel circuits is
Rt=1/((1/R1)+(1//R2)) and in serious its Rt=R1+R2 which would give me a total of 4ohms resistance?

the problem you will have with that is the resistor will have to be able to handle the 300w of power going though it. it will be a huge resistor giving off a lot of heat if you can find one. save your money buy a better amp.

just as a note, it doesnt matter in the slightest if you have the same brand of stuff or not, it won't make a difference, i've run all sorts of stuff together, no-one cares except for pioneer who would like you to buy all their gear.

when you buy speakers, take in one of your fav cds, and check out how they sound, pick the ones you can afford with the sound you like the most, not necessarily the most expensive ones either.

make sure to always check rms power on things.

ok, so those 6x9's
just run em off each channel on the amp, will sound way better then off any headunit, and that way you keep stereo sound also (left and right) my 4 channel amp is 4x60rms, and it used to pump my old kenwood 6x9's to the point it convinced some people there was a sub in the boot.

the 6x9's will work much better the more solid you can get them mounted, on some wood or something if possible, otherwise make sure they are screwed in really well.

with your sub, it is dual 2ohm, or dual 4ohm? cause that will change what amp you need for it aswell.
if its dual 2ohm, you could wire it to 4ohm and even run it off the 300w from your current pioneer amp, if its dual 4ohm, you will need an amp that is stable at 2ohm

anyway, i'll see what you make of this and we can keep working out the best way to go with everyones input.

my 6x9's are running off my 300watt amp at 120wx2, and yer my car sounds like it has subs too Razz and i want all pioneer just cause i can, i just want a full pioneer setup, i dunno why Razz and the sub is dual 2 ohm, does that mean i can hook up the 300x2 watt @2ohm amp to the sub and get 600watts? and my 6x9's are in boxes i bought from repco and i'd possibly mount those boxes to the underside of the parcel shelf facing upwards anyway. thanks for the help tho Smile
